WORK

Local Wood is a Dutch small-scale manufacturer of wooden furniture. The designs of the products are inspired by organic architecture. All wood we use is locally sourced in the south-east of The Netherlands.

"As long as I remember I have a passion for wood. In my younger days I used to scour containers looking for scraps of wood. Nowadays, I wander through the woods, looking for a fallen tree. Or re-use old furniture that people throw away.

Each wooden item itself inspires me to make new work. With a rough touch, as beauty lies in imperfection and transience. My intuitive working method creates therefore unique copies, that are made by hand."
